Bazhai Feng Shui

In Feng Shui, houses as well as people are divided in eight parts: north, south, east, west, northwest, southwest, northeast, and a southeast.

Bazhai Feng Shui says that certain directions are more auspicious than others for people and houses. For that reason Bazhai Feng Shui teaches that one can harmonize one's inner self with one house's.

Bazhai has eight signs: Zhen
Li
Dui
Kan
Xun
Kun
Qian
Gen

The eight directions of a house are connected to the eight signs of Bazhai.

North - Kan

South - Li

East - Zhen

West - Dui

Northwest - Qian

Southeast - Xun

Northeast - Gen

Southwest - Kun

How can one know what kind of house is the correct one in regard to the eight trigrams? By looking from inside the house to the entrance door, one is in the position that points to the house's sign. It doesn't matter the shape of the house, for all of them have infinite direction. In this fashion, we can know that:

1. The house is in the north and the door is facing south - this house is called "Kan"

2. The house is in the south and the door is facing north - this house is called "Li"

3. The house is in the east and the door is facing west - this house is called "Zhen"

4. The house is in the west and the door is facing east - this house is called "Dui"

5. The house is in the northwest and the door is facing southeast - this house is called "Qian"

6. The house is in the southeast and the door is facing northwest - this house is called "Xun"

7. The house is in the northeast and the door is facing southwest - this house is called "Gen"

8. The house is in the southwest and the door is facing northeast - this house is called "Kun

The eight houses of Bagua can be divide don two groups: "Dongsizhai" and "Xisizhai".

Dongsizhai is formed by the four trigrams:

Zhenzhai = 3

Lizhai = 2

Xunzhai = 6

Kanzhai = 1

Xisizhai is formed by the four trigrams:

Qianzhai = 5

Duizhai = 4

Genzhai = 7

Kunzhai = 8

The signs of Dongsizhai and Xisizhai should be memorized, for they are frequently used in Feng Shui. The lives of people, as well as houses, have eight signs that can be divided in two groups as well, "Dongsiming" and "Xisiming".

Dongsiming is formed by the four trigrams:

Zhenming

Liming

Xunming

Kanming

Xisiming is formed by the four trigrams:

Quianming

Duiming

Genming

Kunming

A Dongsiming person should live in a Dongsizhai house, for this is more auspicious. For instance, a zhenming person is dongsiming, for that reason his or her house cannot have its front door facing east. A xisiming person should live in a xisizhai house.

How can one tell if a person is dongsiming or xisiming ? (Considering that this question demands a comprehensive answer, it will be answered in another article).

Each direction exerts a different influence for each family member.

1. Quiangua - northwest - father

2. Kungua - southwest - mother

3. Kangua - north - (middle) son

4. Ligua - south - (middle) daughter

5. Zhengua - east - (older) son

6. Duigua - west - (younger) daughter

7. Xungua - southeast - (older) daughter

8. Genguia - northeast - (younger) son

The eight "ming" exert influence over people, and only four of them are auspicious for a person. Each "ming" exert a different degree of influence over each person.

"Bazhai Feng Shui" uses "I Ching" to deduce which are the four auspicious and the four inauspicious directions.

1. Liming (from highest to lowest)

When one practices Feng Shui, one must not think that following the manual is enough, for the entire Feng Shui theory is based on movement that constantly changes shapes. For that reason, one needs to practice "Qi Gong" to open up the channels of perception and thus feel the world around better. Feng Shui is not only a theory, it's not enough to memorize the rules or gaze at a house's blueprint. It is necessary to practice Qi Gong to know the essence of Feng Shui.

Sifu Cai has dedicated his whole life to the study of orthodox sciences and modern sciences, developing a correlated science in the process. WenyuQIGong is based on the theories of Hetu, Luoshu, I Ching, Bagua, Ying Yang Wuxing, Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Meteorology, Geology, Astronomy, Geophysics, Astrophysics, Celestial Mechanics, Astrodynamics, Hydrography, and the theories of Feng Shui and orthodox Qi Gong.

When we buy a house, we experience a moment of great luck and joy. However, after we have settled in, certain problems may arise. For instance, sometimes someone gets sick in the house, business go bad, or the children have problems at school. When that happens, we must understand that the house's Feng Shui is not compatible with the people's Feng Shui.
